Click the Coupons shortcut from your Dashboard Overview, to view recent coupons. You can click any coupon to open it for editing, or click the New button below the recent coupons top open a new Coupon builder. From anywhere in your Business Control Panel you can choose Sell Online from the navigation bar, then click the Coupons & Promo Codes link or the Coupons panel. If you have already made coupons, you will see a gallery of existing coupons. If this is your first one, click the Create Coupon/Promo Code button.
Create the coupon by filling in the fields in the form at left. The coupon will build in real-time in the Coupon Builder on the right.
The Offer field is the name of the coupon. This also creates the name of the page for the coupon. Key Tip: Title your coupon with the important keywords that a consumer might search. For example, “Men’s Shoes – Free Spare Laces” is better than “Free Spare Laces with Purchase”
In the Description field, provide the details of the offer. For example, “Present this coupon to receive free spare laces on specially marked men’s running shoes.”
In the Small Print field, add any restrictions or rules. For example, “Does not apply to clearance shoes. May not be combined with other offers.”
Choose the start and end dates on the left and right calendars, respectively. This will determine the dates the coupons appears and disappears from your ShopCity.com site, as well as the Valid dates on the coupon. If you want the coupon to be posted before it is valid, use the left calendar for your posting date, and specify the valid date in the description.
Click the Choose File button in the Image field to browse your computer for an image for your coupon. It will appear in the coupon only after you save it.
Click the Choose File button in the Barcode field to browse your computer for a barcode or QR code if you have a barcode application.
If you’ve activated your shopping cart and have items for purchase online, you can use the Promo Code field to place a tracking code. For example, if your radio ad or member newsletter offers a special deal for anyone who enters a special code word, put the code word here.
When you sell the item on the ShopCity.com site, your customer will be asked if they have a Promotional Code to enter.
When you enter a Promo Code, two new fields will open. Choose the appropriate condition from the Gives People menu (Free Shipping, Discount of… or Nothing - Just a Tracker)
If you choose “Discount of…” you will be prompted to specify a dollar amount or percentage using an amount field and a drop menu for $ or %.
You can choose “Nothing - Just a Tracker” for pure tracking purposes or for offers such as gift with purchase.
Add a minimum qualifying purchase price in the On Orders Over field (optional)
Hidden: Check the Yes, Hide from Public box when you are using a Coupon or Promo Code that you don’t want made known except by other channels such as your radio ad or newsletter offer, to help you track business or restrict the offer
Be sure to check the Active box when you are ready to publish the coupon or make the offer available
You can send the coupon to Facebook by checking the Facebook box before saving. A comment field will open, and you will have to select the page you manage where you want to post the coupon.
Choose the Save button to save and finish your coupon. You will be returned to the Coupon gallery
