Internet users love to watch videos, and search engines love to serve users pages that have video to show them. In some ShopCity.com subscription programs, you can create a gallery of YouTube videos in your Business Control Panel, which will automatically generate a Videos tab on your Business Profile for visitors to view. The gallery will also make the videos readily available to insert in your About page, Web Pages, Marketplace Items and News Posts.

It’s a great idea to start a YouTube channel for your business so you can easily upload and retrieve videos for use in your Business Profile. If you have the know-how, you can make slick videos of your own; you can upload professional videos you have made for your business; or you can simply take quick videos on a smartphone of products, events, or of yourself talking about your business or your products or services.

In the Publish tab of your Business Control Panel, click the Videos link. To paste the video link in the YouTube URL field:

    1. Locate and click the video on www.YouTube.com

    2. Click the Share button under the video player

    3. Click the Copy button to the right of the link, at the bottom of the dialog box that opens

    4. Return to the BCP Video page and place your cursor in the YouTube URL field

    5. Use CTRL-V (Windows) or CMD-V (Mac) to paste

    6. Check the Post to News Feed box if you want the video posted as a news update from your business, with the comment: {Business Name} posted the video {video name}. Uncheck the box if you don’t want the post, or if you want to manually post the video to the news feed with your own comments.

    7. Click Embed

A list of thumbnails of past videos you’ve added to the gallery appears below the embedding tool.

  • Click the thumbnail to preview the video and access the YouTube tools for that video

  • Click the red-X icon in the top right corner of the video thumbnail to delete the video from your gallery; this will not delete the video from YouTube

  • Click the green reload icon in the bottom right corner of the video thumbnail to re-send the video to the newsfeed with the comment: {Business Name} posted the video {video name}

Shortcut Tip: To view recent videos added to the gallery, click the Videos shortcut on the Overview panel of your Dashboard. Click on any video or the Manage Videos button at the bottom of the list to jump to the Video Gallery Manager.
