It takes a little planning to decide what Marketplace Items to build:

Choose products or services people will search online

  • You might choose to be very specific with brand and model, such as Nike Cross-trainers Model 600, or with a service, Men’s Back Hair Waxing

This is especially true if you are planning to sell the product online.

  • Or you might be a little broader if you are trying to attract search, but not sell online.

    • Product Examples: Nike Cross-trainers, Nike Shoes, or Cross-trainer shoes

    • Service Examples: Men’s Hair Removal, Hair Waxing, or Back Hair Waxing

  • Or you might be very broad, listing marketplace items to target searches for product or service categories, such as

    • Shoes, or Athletic Shoes

    • Hair removal

Important Tips

  • Always include at least one photo

  • Include detailed descriptions. If you buy from a supplier, you can copy from their website. As long as it’s relevant, more information is better

  • Search engines love video; find the official video of your product on Youtube and add a video to the item. Or start a Youtube channel and take quick videos with your phone, upload them to Youtube, and add the video to your item

  • If you’re not selling online, leave the Availability menu set to In-Stock. Better to get the inquiry even if you have to say you’re sold out, but have another similar item

  • Once you’ve made several Marketplace Items, go back and add “Suggested Items” in the editor of each one to increase engagement and sell more product
